CALL ME LYD

Life with Lyddie · Services provided by Brightly LLC

The experience to know.
The energy to do.

Hello, I’m Lyd. I’m bringing all the chapters of my life together—and putting that experience to work for you.

I’ve lived and worked on both sides of the Atlantic. Executive offices, legal teams, healthcare, hospitality, a family and a farm have all shaped how I work. When I step into your world, that experience comes with me.

I help people and teams make room for what matters, while building Brightly, running Little Feathers Farm and bringing an eclectic collection of experience to the people who need it now.

Life on both sides of the Atlantic: the work, the communities, the people and the everyday moments that belong together.

A Florida chapter.

Tampa connects several strands of my working life: financial administration with SalientCRGT, executive and office support with Millennium Consulting and Maisie’s Management Consulting, and hospitality with Bahama Breeze and Maisie’s Cafe. Different settings, each asking for organization, attention and an understanding of people.

City days, the waterfront, and a little time by the sea.

Come along. There’s quite a story here.

Years in the UK brought executive assistance at National Rail, legal document production at Nabarro LLP, work with Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust, Sheffield City Council, Insight UK in Worksop and a range of temporary assignments. I also served as a school governor at Hexthorpe Primary School in Doncaster, including chairing a six-person hiring committee.

School Governor · Hexthorpe Primary School

Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom · Two years

My UK experience included two years as a school governor at Hexthorpe Primary School, including chairing a six-person hiring committee.

My education experience also includes substitute teaching and tutoring at SAU 15 in New Hampshire, volunteering as one-to-one classroom support for deaf children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substitute teaching in classes for children with special needs.

Meeting and board support

“We need the decisions captured—and the follow-up kept moving.”

Meeting papers, attendance records, structured minutes, decision records and an action tracker. I bring sensitive meeting administration and school governance experience to the detail.

THE PEOPLE STAY WITH YOU

Pay attention.
There’s a person there.

One of the relationships I remember most began in a classroom and grew across an academic year.

I supported a child who was profoundly deaf and autistic. Our families became friends, and I had the privilege of knowing him at school, at home and in the community.

I noticed that music with deep bass tones sometimes seemed to help him settle when he was overstimulated. That experience stayed with me: a reminder to be curious about how someone experiences the world, and to pay attention to what helps that individual.

Family care coordination

“Everyone is helping, but nobody has the whole picture.”

Keep appointments, contact information, correspondence and agreed family updates organized during illness or a transition. Practical coordination draws on my patient access and companion experience.

Talk about family coordination →

Support starts with the person.

In direct support and human services, I want the person’s needs and preferences at the center of the decisions made with them. Listening, adapting and working together matter as much as getting the schedule right.

I bring that same practical attention to complex schedules, coaching teams, training colleagues and figuring out what needs doing when things get busy.

being there matters ♡

Compassionate Care Companion

I have also assisted families through end-of-life journeys. That experience belongs here alongside my direct support and classroom work: another part of a life spent supporting people through very different circumstances.

And outside work?

Homesteading, cultivating gourmet mushrooms and learning about goat therapy are among the things that catch my interest. Raising my two grown boys is a part of my life I’m especially proud of.

HOME & FAMILY / THE EVERYDAY CHAPTER

And then there’s
the rest of life.

My two grown boys. Daisy. Our family farm. The places I’ve been and the people who have been part of them.

Work is one thread through my life. Family, community, curiosity and the everyday belong here, too.

All part of the same story.

01 / WHO I AM

A curious mind.
A human heart.
Practical hands.

Lyd with short dark hair and berry lipstick against a colorful background
A varied life. Plenty to bring to the table.

An eclectic working life has given me more than a collection of job titles. It’s given me perspective.

I’ve supported executives, welcomed restaurant guests, worked with legal documents, helped patients navigate registration and supported people in their daily lives. The setting changes. Paying attention to the person in front of me still matters.

Living and working in the United States and the United Kingdom has made room for different ways of thinking and doing things. I’m open-minded, interested in people’s experiences and happy to learn a better way.

My humanitarian outlook is practical: treat people with dignity, listen before assuming, and make the work useful to somebody. Away from the office, Little Feathers Farm keeps me connected to a very different kind of daily work.

WORK WITH ME / DIRECT SUPPORT OR A TEAM ASSIGNMENT

Need a pinch hitter?
That’s where I come in.

I’ve spent much of my working life stepping into someone else’s world—an unfamiliar office, a busy restaurant, a hospital, a team that needs another pair of capable hands.

Different places, different people, different ways of doing things. I enjoy finding my feet, figuring out what needs doing and getting on with it.

Someone’s away? You’re stretched thin? There’s a project that needs attention? You can contact me directly about a defined piece of support, or consider me for a temporary employee assignment. I’m interested in useful, clearly scoped work that meets a current need.

I’m looking for a useful chapter with good people: work I can take pride in, a need I can help meet, and a clear understanding of what we’re there to accomplish together.

Cottage Grove roots. On-site across the USA.

I’m free to travel for on-site assignments throughout the United States, including traveling to or alongside an executive. Eugene, Oregon is my departure airport. The assignment can take me elsewhere: we agree the dates, location, scope and travel arrangements together.

My rural home and varied working life bring perspective with them: running a small enterprise, switching between different responsibilities and understanding that good work depends on people as much as processes.

When the records needa closer look.

A practical assignment can uncover a question worth examining. That is a connection already available through Brightly.

Through Examined by Brightly, we examine paperwork, questions, proposals and ideas, identify the information needed and connect findings to their sources. That capability is part of the wider Brightly behind my practical support.

When you hire Life with Lyddie, you have access to Examined by Brightly by default. If an assignment raises a proposal to examine, a claim to trace or an idea to explore, we can define that work and its fee within the assignment or a separate scope.

Brightly brings my experience together in a way that fits this chapter of my life. The examination may bring you back with a clearer practical assignment—or a completely new question. We can follow that thread together.
